Optimization LeadJob Summary:Under the direction of the Director,
HRIS and Compensation, the HRIS Systems & Process Optimization Lead
plays a critical role in supporting the technical design and
process improvement efforts related to Workday HCM and other
administrative systems at Barnard College. This position combines
deep technical expertise in Workday with a strategic,
community-centered approach to business process redesign.The ideal
candidate will be a systems thinker who thrives at the intersection
of technology, process, and people. They will support and assist in
developing Workday reports and business processes while working
collaboratively with departments across the College to identify and
implement more efficient, effective, and sustainable operations.
This individual will also serve as a trusted partner in promoting a
culture of continuous improvement and thoughtful change within a
mission-driven environment. This position serves as a technical
point of contact and assists subject matter experts with payroll
administration processing, benefits administration, data
availability, testing of system changes, human resources
information, reporting, process improvement opportunities and end
user training.Job Description:Workday Design & Technical
SupportWork with HR colleagues to assess changes to systems,
reports and business processes within the department. Proactively
identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies in
processes that involve or impact HR; suggest changes in accordance
with industry best practices.As part of the HRIS Team, contribute
to the ongoing design, support, and maintenance of Workday.Develop,
test, and maintain Workday HCM reports, dashboards, Monitor system
performance and data integrity; troubleshoot issues and identify
optimization opportunities.Stay up to date with Workday releases
and translate updates into actionable system enhancements. Process
Design & OptimizationLiaise with Barnard College Information
Technology (BCIT), Payroll, Budget and other campus constituencies
to represent and advocate for the needs & requirements of HR, and
the users of HR information systems throughout the College.Partner
with HR team members, and with other constituencies as above, to
lead and/or assist with the delivery of projects including
configuration changes and functionality deployment (including, but
not limited to: configuration; testing, documentation; peer review;
sign off; training; and change management).Collaborate with HR team
members to understand current workflows and pain points.Facilitate
workshops and discovery sessions to co-design more efficient,
user-friendly processes.Apply Six Sigma, Lean, or Agile
methodologies to redesign business processes with measurable
impact.Champion documentation and sustainability of new workflows
and systems. Partner with functional leads to assess, document, and
implement system improvements.Develop and document HRIS system
procedures and tutorials for HR colleagues.Assist in responding to
inquiries regarding employee and manager self-service workflows.
Community EngagementServe as a bridge between technical solutions
and community adoption - building trust, addressing concerns, and
providing training.Communicate complex technical changes in
accessible and empathetic ways.Help develop a culture of continuous
improvement across the department and College.Perform other duties
as assigned.Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:Knowledge, Skills
& Abilities:Working knowledge of Workday HCM.Ability to present and
guide conversations regarding technical features to non-technical
staff.Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and
to communicate and simplify complex technical information for
non-technical users.Ability to organize and prioritize work under
tight time constraintsUnderstanding of HR processes and
data.Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to
effectively interpret, communicate and explain technical language
in non-technical terms. Ability to deal with sensitive and complex
situations, problems, and highly confidential information; deal
appropriately with various College and external
communities.Experience with process improvement methodologies such
as Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile.Strong project management and
organizational skills.Ability to work independently and
collaboratively across diverse teams.Comfort navigating a
mission-driven, community-oriented culture with varying levels of
change readiness.Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years experience in HR
system analysis, design, development, and support.Bachelor's degree
in a related field. Comprehensive knowledge of business and
technical requirements analysis as they relate to human resource
systems integration, HRIS data configuration, workflow management,
and business processes.3+ years of hands-on Workday configuration
experience.Certification in at least one of the following: Six
Sigma (Green Belt or higher), Agile, or Lean methodology.Prior
experience with HCM system implementationDemonstrated ability to
lead or facilitate process improvement projects.Excellent
interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and influence
across a diverse community.Strong project management and
organizational skills.Preferred Qualifications:Workday HCM
CertificationExperience with Six Sigma, Lean, or Agile
methodologies Higher education experienceSalary Range: $120,000 -
$130,000 annuallyThe salary of the finalist selected for this role
will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not
limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience,
education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring
range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate
of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
