THE POSITION
Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is seeking a hard-working, reliable individual to work in our Dietary Department and make a difference in the lives of our senior community members. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Food Service Worker 2, you will prepare ingredients and cook food items in bulk quantities according to menu specifications. Your duties will include following recipes, preparing modified diets, ordering supplies, ensuring proper food requisition and preparation, and ensuring compliance with recipes alongside the Cook. The role also involves instructing volunteers, packaging bulk food items, maintaining food temperatures, operating kitchen equipment, cleaning dishes, maintaining sanitation standards, participating in tray line activities, and performing related tasks as needed. You will also have the opportunity to attending training sessions to enhance your skills. Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of modern methods of food preparation, service, and sanitation. Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Employee may have irregular hours, including evenings, weekends or holidays.Employee may have overnight travel or out of county travel for meetings or training.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSExperience in food preparation or service; orAny equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
